Below is a list of projects I’ve worked on or assisted other designers in. A portion of the content is either archived, removed from our older workspaces, or no longer accessible due to my separation with the company.

  • General UI/UX

    1. Complete overhaul and redesign of the web platform using legacy desktop as a base.

    2. Various quality of life changes and feature improvements.

    3. Pretty much every single container, feature, and module you see on the web platform was designed or curated by myself.

    IPOs

    ​1. One of my earliest projects was bridging the gap between ClickIPO and tastytrade. I designed and presented day 1 designs to intergrate that into early web2 designs.

    Grid Mode Trading

    1. A key feature of legacy desktop was Grid Mode Trading which allows customers to open multiple trading windows to simultaneously place trades. I redesigned the feature to be more user friendly, fit a variety of screen sizes, and cut a lot of excessive information to make the entire process more user-friendly.

    Icons 2.0

    1. Full redesign of our icon library from scratch - accessibility compliant, minimal, and easily configured and utilized for each product.

    Options Trading Table

    1. The options trading table had a lot of excessive noise and confusing icons that made the usability poor. I spent time cleaning up flags and indicators, adding proper labeling and tool tips to features, and made selected queued trades more understandable. 

    Settings

    1. Settings is a key feature in all products, although ours took a back seat in design updates for too long. I renewed it's UX by reorganizing the navigational structure, improved the UI with stronger visual cues, and added a more granular notification setting to reduce on-screen noise.

    Navigation Page Headers

    1. With each page having its own set of filters and interactions, many of the fields and important interactions fell off the screen on smaller screen sizes. I reworked the filters to compile into a pop-out function which reduced clustering on smaller screens while leaving important filters and interactions present at all times. The result allowed all screen sizes to properly display items at specified breaking points.

    Contingent Orders

    1. Similar to bracket orders, contingent orders allows the customer to create an order ticket and fill it with specific triggers like time, symbols, volume or price. Much of the time was spent redesigning the bracket order ticket to include these new features and make it work across a variety of screen sizes. 

    Market Statuses

    1. Our early implementation of the platform status only showed red, yellow, or green statuses without content. With the help of another designer, we devised a more informative design that provided context of potential issues, when markets are closed, and which symbols and assets could be traded at which times. 

    Customer Account Management (CAM)

    1. Early redesign of CAM was done by myself and another designer. A great deal of the time was spent with compliance on proper legal wording, security, and deposits & withdrawals

    Dashboard

    1. Dashboard was a new feature that aimed to providing the customer with their account performance, news, help, and educational material. The redesign was intended to use aspects of Project: Mosaic which is detailed more under my professional work. 

    Backtesting

    1. Worked with project managers and developers to design and implement the backtesting feature. Backtesting is used to test a strategy or model on historical data to see how well it would have worked before using it in real life.

    Journal

    1. The journal feature allows the customer to take general notes or create specific ones about certain trades, symbols, or assets. They can defer to older entries to do smaller backtests to see how certain trades performed and whether or not their assessment of their trade was correct or not. 

    Curve Mode

    1. Curve mode is a tasty-specific feature - it allows the customer to queue up a position in the options table and then with specified settings, view it in curve mode that creates a curve visual of likely probability of how it would perform over time. Since this was the former CTO's concept, I spent a great deal of back and forth time concepting, designing, and working with developers on the many features to get it implemented. 

    Analysis Mode

    1. The analysis mode is a right menu feature that once activated, worked in-tandem with the curve mode to provide even more detailed information about the trade. Since this is a more advanced feature for knowledgeable traders, it is not inherently activated to reduce cognitive-load on the page. 

    Balance Header

    1. A large requested feature from desktop users was the balance header. While a balance header was present in web from the beginning, it only showed the current active account. While the customers could always go to the account menu to switch accounts, the multi-account balance header allowed them to quickly swap between accounts with a single click and provided relevant trading balances and information.

  • Before we had a lead mobile designer, myself and another designer had to redesign the app from the ground up. While I had minimal interaction with the current mobile designs, the current UI/UX was built off version 1.

    General UI/UX

    1. Fully realized design system and tokens designed with mobile scalability in mind.

    2. Navigation updates - as the app grew with features, the primary navigation needed to account for new links and features and ensure that they were easy to access upon release. 

  • Both early web and mobile design system libraries were designed by myself. As Figma's feature list grew, we accommodated and revised as necessary. Once we acquired a sole mobile lead, I worked with them get token connectivity to GitHub and components linked up with developers using Svelte and UICL.

    In 2024, I was sole designer for web2 products and features and continued to clean up and expand our design system library. We adopted the Atomic Model for component creation and similar file structures to make building designs and file hand-off more seamless.
